Sr. Test Engineer- Operations Job Description� Design, develop and implement test strategies for assigned new products and technologies.
� Develop SW for automated test using LabView, TestStand, Visual Basic etc.
� Generate test plans, procedures and related documents for NPI and provide DFM/DFT feedback to design engineering.
� Meet schedules and provide technical updates for all projects in assigned areas of responsibility
� Define and support test and process development standardization efforts
� Contribute to the definition and maintenance of standards for ATE software creation
� Feed back and implement opportunities for improvement
� Participate proactively as a member of the overall Operations Engineering technical team.
� Conduct sustaining engineering activities including but not limited to:
o Yield analysis and failure trend resolution
o Process optimization to maximize efficiency and standardization
o Support qualification and CM transfer operations
� Work closely with Engineering (HW & SW) during proto boards bring up in the lab and ensure smooth transfer of information from Eng to NPI Operations.
� Interface with design engineering, QA engineering, Sourcing PMs, NPI PMs, product support engineers, and technicians to understand, define and help to resolve problems
� Engage appropriate resources from design engineering, QA, and Operations to quickly and effectively drive issue resolution and implementation
� Communicate technical issues to multiple internal and external parties clearly and effectively on timely manner.
� Interface with and coordinate process technical activities with globally distributed manufacturing and design centers
Desired Profile � Bachelors in Electrical/ Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with 3 year of relevant experience or Masters in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience and course work in telecommunications, optics, lasers, and electro-optical technologies.
� Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in electronics and/or optics based design/manufacturing.
� Working knowledge of fiber-optical telecommunication test equipment (including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, Ethernet and SONET tester, etc.) and test equipment controls (through RS232, GBIP, LAN, etc.)
� Working knowledge and demonstrated experience of use of test automation software such as Labview, Teststand and Visual Basic.
� Computer skills, including programming in one or more languages: Visual Basic, Labview, C++
� Must have good verbal and written technical communication skills.
� Understanding of manufacturing systems control, reconfiguration and optimization of processes.
� Must understand quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
