Learning Manager


Job Description   

Project Summary:

The Content Learning is a team of 18, based in Singapore, Bangalore, Beijing, Manila, Gdynia, Tiverton, Boston and New York/White Plains. This position is based in Bangalore supporting the Content group based in Bangalore. They will lead a team to implement learning strategies/plans and support business unit (Content), including balancing learning and development needs, plans and priorities with global approaches for targeted, quality, efficient and cost-effective learning and development.

* Defines learning/development strategy for Content in Bangalore with input from Head of Talent and Learning for Content and Head of Talent and Learning for South Asia. Implements and evaluates strategy/plans.
* Reports to Head of Talent and Learning for Content with a dotted line to Head of Talent and Learning for South Asia and work as part of the Bangalore management team.
* Accountable for addressing all development requirements for the Content unit based in Bangalore
* Lead a team of learning consultants and work with global admin staff.
* Manages learning quality, resource, and budget on behalf of business unit.
* Primarily Operational Focus with some strategic input
* Support on a adhoc basic basic learning requirements for other business units or other locations in India (e.g. Mumbai)

Essential Day to Day Responsibilities:

* Works with Content managers to identify learning needs and priorities for their business group, allocate resource & deliver customer requirements using Content Learning and Global Learning processes. Identifies learning implications of business decisions for the business on an ongoing basis. Owns the solution of learning needs. Typically has input/sign off on strategies/plans by Head of Talent and Learning for Content and/or the regional Head of Talent and Learning.
* Typically lead projects and oversee projects of team. Has sign off on all output of the team. May deliver some face to face learning solutions e.g. for more senior programmes.
* Sets and agrees targets, plans and measures for the learning team to support the business unit's objectives. Monitors quality of learning activities delivered/supplied to customers to ensure satisfaction. Business roles acts as brokers to source best solutions to business unit's learning and development needs from learning centre, global specialist learning team & external suppliers. Promote and enforce Content Learning dashboard and targets.
* Typically works as part of management team in the Content Learning team or local management team.
* Develops learning plans to support Mission Analysis/key objectives within the business. Ensure that learning solutions supplied are in line with performance requirements & that measures are in place for evaluation.
* Provides comprehensive learning advice & expertise to Content. Encourages adoption of industry best practice. Will role model professional skills for learning specialists/senior learning specialists and provide coaching/development in professional skills & Global Learning Platform approaches. Champions/implements adoption of learning best practice and coach/develop more junior learning staff in line with professional skills & Global Learning Platform.
* The Learning Manager will lead a team of learning consultants and work with admin staff.
* Defines resource requirements in line with strategy & plans. Recommends use of internal/external suppliers. Works with Heads of Talent and Learning and Site Manager to agree resourcing/staffing requirements and plans. May be involved with sources external suppliers, will manage local budget.
* Identifies relevant learning contacts throughout the business and works with them to ensure efficient use of resources/effort.

Desired Profile    

Qualifications


* Holds a higher education degree
* Ideally holds recognised qualifications in adult learning or equivalent professional accreditation

Required Skills:

* Typically has 2+ years in management roles and ideally 3+ years experience as a learning professional/people development.
* Has a range of experience in adult learning including needs analysis, design, development, delivery & evaluation in both face to face & alternative learning methods.
* Experience in forecasting, estimating expenditure and some budget management
* Proven project management skills/experience
* Will typically have staff management experience & may have experience within the
business unit.

Desired skills:

* Holds specific learning and development qualifications like coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming etc
