Web Developers - Third Party Payroll - Fixed Term Duration Job Description Working with a team (visual designers, content managers, project manager, and other developers) to create cutting edge web sites and web applications.
Responsible for turning design and user interface mockups into functional web site.
Testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Symantec.com site.
Should prove to be a valuable technical resource for other team members.
Identify and report defects, verify fixes, work with developers and Business Analysts to ensure defects are resolved.
Filing defects in Remedy and follow the workflow process for closing the defects.
Work closely with Onshore & Offshore Development and Business Analyst teams.
Participate in regular project meetings, and requirement/process review meetings as directed by the Project Manager
A weekly report needs to be submitted EOD Friday on the tasks completed
Desired Profile Primary Skills
3+ years strong industry experience website development and design
Strong experience with Flash/DHTML/JavaScript/CSS development
Strong working knowledge of browser-neutral, JavaScript, CSS, XHTML, HTML, DHTML, XML, XSLT, RSS, Flash,
Understanding of AJAX, Web 2.0 concepts, and Server-Side coding in JSP
Strong experience with object oriented design/development.
Strong experience with Web Services
Strong understanding of web standards, such as W3C Standards and 508 Compliance.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple simultaneous work streams
Secondary Skills
Knowledge in SFTP and simple UNIX Commands is preferred.
Working knowledge of DRUPAL is preferred
Experience in Remedy for Defects management is preferred.
Experience in QA standards and procedures is preferred.
Microsoft Outlook as an e-mail system is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and general ability to communicate effectively with internal customers
Strong communication skills to communicate to PM and rest of the project team
Experience with Teamsite is preferred.
