Junior Consultant - Neurosurgery Job Description 1.1. To assist the consultants in the Neurosurgery OT while performing the procedures. To be available through out the procedures and help in handling emergencies.
1.2. To schedule the patient appointments and inform the consultants accordingly. Coordination between the internal and external key interfaces.
1.3. To ensure the availability and functionality of all the equipment in the OT and the cleanliness and sterilization of the OT and all the equipments used after each procedure.
1.4. To access all the Neuro–ICU patients daily and to ensure that they are receiving appropriate Medical Care.
1.5. To ensure that patient’s condition is communicated correctly to the relatives and all their queries are answered appropriately.
1.6. To help the SMOs & MOs manage critically ill patients in ICU.
1.7. To work collectively with the Nursing In charge to bring about quality improvement in the department.
1.8. To help the Director/Head Neurosurgery in administrative issues regarding the department.
1.9. To create an ideal learning atmosphere in the department where each MO & SMO can get a chance to improve upon his/her clinical skills.
1.10. To ascertain the strict implementation of various working protocols like BLS, ACLS and infection control.
1.11. Jr.Consultant will be required to help the consultants for the Peripheral OPD/ Camps.
1.12. Assistant Consultants / Associate Consultants will be required to assist the consultants for the Peripheral OPD/ Camps.
1.13. Jr.Consultant will be required to assist the Sr.Consultant / Consultants for the various procedures
1.14. To assist/ carry out procedures such as Micro Neurosurgery, Micro Neurovascular Surgery, Skull Base Surgery, Neuro Oncosurgery, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, Cranio-Vertebral Junction Surgery.
1.15. To prepare the patients reports regularly (Min thrice a week)
1.16. To contribute to the organization on the Academic front as well
1.17. To remain on Call during the night.
