Roles and Responsibilities: UNIX, ITIL
Skill & Job Requirements: Skills: Unix Systems Level 3 Specialist
Certifications: ITIL, Sun Level 1, 2 &3
Client Environment:
Various customer solutions hosted in Data Centers, managed remotely from offshore
Key skills required: (in the order of priority)
Exposure to high end Sun Fire/Enterprise servers
Exposure to storage systems Sun storage
Knowledge on clustering / HA using VERITAS / Sun clusters
Experience in Volume Management - VERITAS Volume Manager & Veritas File System /Solstice disk suite administration/ RAID administration, OS installation & configuration SUN Domain and Container administration NIS, NIS+ / DNS administration
Good knowledge of Storage and Backup technologies
Preferably Sun L3 Expertise on mid range SunFire servers 4800, 6800, 6900, 880, 4500.
Exposure to RSC remote console management. Exposure to Storage systems A5100/5200, 3300, T3, etc
Exposure on Solaris 8, 9, 10, Zones, ZFS.
Experienced in Production Server Environment., SSH based Remote Console Operations.
Documentation skills
Experience in Mid range/Enterprise Servers Hardware & OK Prompt
Experience in VERITAS/SUN Volume Manager, Shell/PERL Scripting, SUN Cluster / VCS.
Exposure on Networking with Solaris (ifconfig, route, IPMP, etc),
Knowledge on EMC Powerpath (for multi path), HBA driver/firmware upgrades, persistent bindings.

Work during UK Business Hours & On Call support for out of business hours, as per rotation plan
Telephonic and Email based User/Vendor Management
Problem determination and resolution on a 24x7 basis
