Analyst


Job Description

·         Research and evaluate corporate action information pertaining to cash actions from various external sources on a daily basis or as received.

·         Maintain corporate action information databases and ensure information is entered and distributed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all updates are made in each appropriate system, and deal with queries in a timely & professional manner. Contact external sources when needed (e.g. custodians, market data vendors)

·         As experience is gained, Analyst will work on more complex non-cash corporate actions

·         Carry out the Trade ship process.

·         Research and activate new security set-ups to facilitate the trading process.

·         Maintain destinations for fund information

·         Transmit trade files to custodians to ensure timely trade settlement

·         Maintain a proactive approach at all times towards relevant queries coming into the department & ensure resolution as appropriate.

·         General administration duties to help with the smooth running of the department.

·     Update broker and settlement information as needed to ensure proper trade settlement.  Requires contact with custodian bank, trading departments, brokers, and other necessary personnel.

·         Maintaining settlement instructions

·         Assist in maintaining broker database .

·         Gathering data for reporting.

Assist in any special projects as requested.   

REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics (Bcomm).

SPECIAL SKILLS

·         Proficient in MS Office, Lotus Notes Applications & Internet (training will be provided)

·         Good verbal and written communication skills

·         Customer service orientation

·         Well organized and detailed oriented

·         Effective interpersonal skills

·         Work well in a daily deadline oriented environment

Experience :

One to three years work experience, preferably in the investment industry.

Basic knowledge of financial markets and various security types.
