Job Description   

''The Yahoo! Mail Service Engineering team is looking

for a highly motivated and experienced engineer possessing

experience in working with large scale production deployments with good development skills in building monitoring, diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.

The position entails

* working on the reliability, scalability and performance aspects of distributed applications

* working with large scale production deployments of thousands of servers

* building tools to manage, monitor and trouble shoot large scale networks

Desired Profile    

Skills & Experience

To be successful, you must have 5+ years of experience with the following skills:

* operating systems (FreeBSD or similar forms of Unix)

* Perl and UNIX scripting

* understanding of DNS, NFS, TCP/IP and other internet protocols

* experience in application level troubleshooting and monitoring

* knowledge of tools like Netcool or Nagios would be a plus

* excellent problem solving skills

* excellent communication skills

BSCS or equivalent is required. ''
