Senior Engineer –Systems / Specialist –Systems Job Description Mainframe Operations
Required experience in Monitoring and scheduling
Candidate should have experience on Zeke or OPC
Desired Profile Job Profile –
Proficient in the IPL, Shutdown/startup and dump processes performed at the MVS Consoles
Proficient in OPS/MVS and its processes
Strong in JCL commands
Strong hands-on experience in Zeke and CA7 / CTRL-M scheduling tool / Operation Experience
Proficient in MVS/JCL including the ability to perform Job Restarts and overrides
IBM TWS/OPC, ASG Zeke/Zebb, BMC Control-M, CA7/CA11, CA ESP, FAQS/PCS.
Role Description –
24X7X365 Support
Handling L2 Operations with scheduling
Taking care of monitoring, scheduling in Zeke, CA7 Tools.
Weekly IPL
Schedule the jobs CA7 or Zeke as per request
Holiday table schedule
cancel batch jobs & demand batch jobs into the system
Restart batch jobs that are in an abended state & Rerun batch jobs,
Ability to increase batch job performances & Alter batch job
Interface with various MVS group representatives when and where needed. (i.e.. software, storage management, automation, and Database Administrators.)
Provide feedback to Master Schedulers, Customer Service Representatives (CSR's), and customers on improper NEP and Callout instructions found while trying to resolve abends and making contacts.
Initiate callouts to resolve production work related problems.
Respond to tickets, and update the resolution when needed.
Prepare Morning Report regarding late jobs and provide reasons why they are late.
Mandatory Skills
Excellent written/verbal communication
Experience Opeartions L1/L2 support
Hands on experience in multiple tools like Zeke, CA7 & CTRL-M,
Strong in JCL commands
Experience on performing IPL
Any Ticketing tools with monitoring experience
Experience 4 - 8 Years
