Manager, TRM Process Solutions

Job Summary

The job involves leading a team working for a Global fund administrator, specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. The position requires good experience and back ground in financial markets and back office functions. The role includes a close supervision of the team, effectively handling escalations as well as communicating with internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned:

General Responsibility Specifics

A. Management

a. Effectively and efficiently manage

i. Team - motivate and lead

ii. Internal & external audiences

iii. Risk – understand operational risk and how to mitigate it

B. Reconciliation

a. Supervise team in daily reconciliation of transactions for account types including, but are not limited to:

i. Prime Broker

ii. Bank

iii. Custodian accounts

C. Analysis

a. Analyze security and cash positions to identify discrepancies between customers position and clearing agent

b. Understand and minimize risk associated with breaks

c. Prioritize time accordingly to clear breaks by end of day

d. Understand and process trade activity in accordance with established operations policies and procedures

e. Knowledge and ability to review and fix errors

D. Communication

a. Communicate effectively with team members and internal groups

b. Develop action plan for resolution of outstanding issues

c. Respond quickly and accurately to requests in a high volume, time sensitive trading environment

d. Ensure seamless hand-offs between US & India teams

Desired Profile    

Job Requirements:

Education / Experience preferences

a. Masters in Economics or Finance

b. Minimum 8-10 years of total work experience, with at least 5 yrs in a Financial Institution

Qualification Guidelines:

a. Sound knowledge of the Financial markets, instruments and back office functions

b. Good product knowledge and understanding of futures, options, swaps, equities, derivatives and equivalent

c. Excellent team management and motivation skills

d. Excellent spoken and written English, and the ability to write business correspondence

e. Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel & Word)

f. Demonstrate high ethical standards

g. Strong problem solving skills, detail and results oriented

h. Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through
