Summary Description:
The Software Engineer will become a member of the NCR IT Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Development team, working on the development of new data warehousing applications and enhancements to the existing applications. The applications follow the software engineering life cycle model. . The Enterprise Data Warehouse performs global systems integration with ERP systems, Worldwide Customer Services (WCS) organization and other Service related systems.
NCR's Enterprise Data Warehouse environment instance provides a single global source for business information for Worldwide Customer Services (WCS) and the following Oracle application, Order Management, Inventory, Bill of Material, Work-in-Process, Purchasing, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets among others.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Produce solution design based on the IT-PRP Requirements Document.
• Design software components and linkages according to IT-PRP document.
• Participate in IT-PRP Solution Design Reviews.
• Ensure adherence to all appropriate standards
• Define strategies to capture reliability and performance metrics.
• Develop software prototypes to evaluate against and synchronize with business requirements.
• Create a unit test plan that includes quality and test criteria
• Construct applications per requirements and design while maintaining adherence to source/build control procedures.
• Follow development standards to assure consistency in approach.
• Document code while it is written.
• Document changes to all purchased software packages as they are made.
• Conduct software code inspections and reviews.
• Perform Unit Testing and CIT /SAT activities
• Develop support and user documentation.
• Develop system documentation.
• Document technical environment required for an application.
• Mentor team members to improve their skills and knowledge.
• Prepare and publish documents in order to instruct and inform others of knowledge gained from work, project, process and experiences

Desired Profile Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a good understanding of UNIX Operating System and Shell programming
• Must have a work experience of 1.5 to 2.5 years in technical development
• Must have a strong understanding and grip on SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
• Functional and technical skills
• Relational database skills
• Prior Enterprise Data Warehouse development experience
• Teradata SQL and utilities experience is strongly preferred
• Teradata Master Certification, is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of Business Objects is preferred
