McAfee is seeking a talented individual to join the Engine team in Aylesbury. The team is responsible for core Anti-malware software components incorporated into many of McAfee's products. The opportunity is to join this team developing network client technologies in C++.
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning, design, development and unit test of existing and new software components to run on a large number of customer machines world-wide. You will work as part of a dedicated and experienced team using agile development techniques.
Design and implement high quality Windows system level components to solve complex and challenging technical issues
Provide frequent feedback of current progress, schedules, and milestones
Analyze, diagnose, debug, and root cause technical issues
Design in highly testable and automatable code for continuous quality validation
Develop quality assurance tools, methods, and practices to ensure quality
Contribute creative and innovative ideas toward future product enhancement and solutions
Maintain code base of current shipping products
Essential:
You must have experience of cross-platform development across Windows and at least one other platform.
You must have excellent C++ knowledge with recent C++ development experience.
You must have development experience within a defined software development process.
You must have excellent technical knowledge of IP-based networking technologies, including HTTP, DNS, and TLS.
You must have experience of using the socket api.
7+ years of direct software development experience on Windows Platform
Proven experience in C/C++ programming directly to Windows SDK
Strong problem solving and analytical skills such as root causing from Windows Crash
Dumps and the ability to use debuggers to diagnose and identify complex system level problems
Must be a strong and flexible team player able to collaborate with internal and external parties including Development Engineers, QA, Support, and Customers.
Understanding of Windows internals, system extensions, and kernel development is highly desired
Networking knowledge and ability to analyze network traffic is a plus
Security knowledge is a plus
Desirable: Knowledge/use of source control systems and defect tracking systems.
Experience of agile development processes.
Knowledge of UML.
Experience within the software security sector.
Knowledge of a wide range of platforms and languages.
