Position Description:
The Oracle DBA will work with a team of individuals to support Oracle databases in
Production environment.
Candidate should have Strong knowledge on Oracle concepts and
Architecture. Hands-on experience using various Oracle utilities like
exp/imp, expdp/impdp, sqlldr, Rman.
The individual will be responsible for acting upon Incidents in the
team queue.The individual must be able to analyze situations and
problems to determine root cause, determine how to troubleshoot and fix
the problem.
The individual will also be responsible for following change control
procedures to plan/test/implement Infrastructure changes, in
coordination with business owners. This position will require an
individual who is a self-starter, detail oriented, and has the ability
to work with little or no supervision. Excellent verbal/written
communication is a must. This position does require providing support
during weekends, on a rotational-basis.
Competencies / Tech skills:
Required:
At least 5-8 years relavant experience suporting Oracle Production
databases with demonstrated knowledge in Oracle 10g,Rman,Standby
database, RAC (Real Application cluster), Oracle Grid Control.
Hands on experience in implementing Oracle CPU patches.
Hands on experience in Oracle Database Performance tuning.
Strong hands on experience with Backup and Recovery methodology.
Strong working knowledge of ITIL-based processes/procedures (Incident & Change
management)
Ability to work with Oracle support.
Knowledge in the following areas is a plus:
Informix database, Progress, SQL Server
Willing to get trained and work on Informix database, Progress, SQL Server as needed
