We have 4 different Roles – Developer , Tester , Routing , Infra
Desired Profile We have 4 different Roles – Developer , Tester , Routing , Infra
Networking Technologies:
– IPv4/v6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, PIM
– MPLS based L3 VPN and QoS(TE)
– ATM, Frame Relay, HDLC, SONET, SDH, POS, IPoDWDM
– L2 VPN: (AToM, VPLS, VPWS) and QoS(TE)
– Ethernet: GE, 802.1q VLANs, 802.1ad (QinQ)
– ACL, QoS, Multicast
Switch/Router Platform Infrastructure:
– OS (RTOS preferred), Embedded (MIPS, PPC)
– Device Drivers
– L2/L3 Forwarding Infrastructure (Control Plane, SW and drivers)
– Network processor programming: NP micro-Code
– Exposure to SW design for High Availability systems
Developer responsibilities
– Experience in Networking technologies, OS and protocols (details last slide).
– Ability to drive system level architecture and design. Ability to debug
complicated issues.
– Strong C programming, SW design, testing and debugging background
– Experience in OS internals and drivers. Exposure to product life cycle and tools
– Customer Experience : Reproduction and debugging of customer issues, handling of
field queries
Tester Responsibilities.
– Hands on experience with one or more of the LAN/WAN and network layer protocols.
Understand related products'' architecture.
– Ability to drive system level test architecture and plan. Map customer scenarios
to test strategy/plan.
– Develop topology based on test requirements and setting up the test bed.
