Desired Candidate Profile

Basic Requirements

Knowledge of all aspects of DNS and ISC BIND versions - 9.x, 8.x (and 4.x)

Knowledge of DHCP (manual, dynamic) and implementation of RFC options

Network knowledge & troubleshooting (TCP/IP, RFC1918 addressing, IP Routing)

Solaris 9/10 System Administration experience

UNIX scripting ability

Strong troubleshooting, organizational and communication skills

Desired Experience

Administration of significant address or name space e.g. corporate or enterprise-wide domains in a multi-platform/vendor environment

Consolidation of IP Management systems/M&As/Divestitures

Knowledge of root name server configurations

BIND builds, testing, implementation & troubleshooting

IP Management toolsets (IPAM) and concepts (esp. Alcatel-Lucent’s VitalQIP)

Zone maintenance tools

Microsoft DNS & Active Directory

UNIX server installation, OS & knowledge of Jumpstart concepts

UNIX system level, Network & BIND ( ACLs, views, options ) security

Windows NT/W2k/W2k3 knowledge

Sybase experience

DNS/DHCP appliances

Knowledge of Split DNS, firewalls, forwarding, VPNs

Knowledge of E-mail, SMTP, MX configuration

VoIP support and DHCP implementation

IPv6

Web design/development

Job Description

Provision of enterprise-wide DNS/DHCP support for global account(s) as part of a 24/7 operations team; administration of domain space and address allocation through the use of VitalQIP IPAM, command line and system utilities; management of enterprise and remote services on UNIX, Wintel and vendor appliance platforms; troubleshooting complex customer issues from network and system problems, through application issues to client device configuration; maintenance of the environment to standard guidelines and policies through the application of change management methodology and processes; build and implementation of DNS/DHCP servers; technical representation on projects ranging from device moves to standardization, mergers and acquisition and divestiture work; identification and provision of operational efficiences in the environment.
