Job DescriptionRole
MLPFS Settlements will provide the associate that joins the team with an excellent opportunity to develop a working knowledge of operations. This is challenging role working to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment under SEC regulations.
The primary function of the role is to provide timely settlement of trades in European markets in order to provide a high level of client service to both internal and external clients and to minimise risk to the firm.
The department provides pre-matching, settlement and fails management services for Equity/Debt instruments for its client base and proprietary desks.
The role requires the individual to develop an understanding of various MLPFS trade flows and learn to proficiently use a range of settlement systems.
The successfully applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to understand the market place and will need to liaise with various trade support, client offices and settlement areas to ensure solid relationships are built and maintained.
Primary Responsibility:
•Ensure settlement of transactions on behalf of clients
•Taking the necessary action to ensure resolution of all failing trades
•Ensuring team work towards meeting quarterly fails targets.
•Employ networking skills to manage your relationships with custodian, clients, relationship managers, middle office representatives and information sources.
•Escalation of potential risk and exposure to your Manager timely and efficiently
•Work to minimize Capital Exposure.
•Provide cover for other team members when required.
•Monitor shared inbox to ensure all queries responded to within agreed SLA
•Ensure that all established procedures are followed.
•Excellent organisational skills are required with the ability to prioritise workload, work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
•To be flexible in their attitude and approach; have a strong desire to learn from day to day scenarios.
•Work as part of a team in providing support to colleagues and ensure that the department maintains optimum performance and delivery of objectives.
