PBS Works core development team is spread across three locations, Troy Michigan, Mountain View California and Bangalore India. The PBS Works follows both time based and feature based release cycles. The developers are responsible for both developing the features assigned to them and sustaining the product. Here is a summary of overall responsibilities
Own and lead the development of a feature in each release of PBS Works.
Work with Program Management group to understand the use case and requirements of the features assigned and produce external and detailed design documents.
Work with Program Management, QA and Technical architect to finalize the external design of the feature enhancements.
Generate detailed design documents; implement the feature; work with reviewers for sign off on design and code.
Contribute to the quality of the product by fixing the assigned bugs in the backend of the release.
Perform any other duties as outlined by Project Manager/Director.
Desired Profile Requirements:
4-6 years of commercial Product development experience using Java, J2EE.
Expertise in one or more of the following skill sets:
o Google Web Toolkit and REST services
o Web services/SOA
o Swings, AWT
Expertise in Java scripting and AJAX
Exposure to any other Rich Internet Application development such as Flex, OpenLaszlo, Curl will be an added advantage
Exposure any of the frameworks like JSF, Spring, Struts will be an added advantage.
Bachelors or Masters degree in IT/Comp Science or related field.
Strong analytical and debugging skills
Desirable but not necessary:
Exposure to HPC, Clusters, Supercomputing & Grid computing concepts.
Exposure/experience in database programming would be considered an added advantage.
